Breaking the Silence
We presented a list of demands to the University of Cincinnati on November 22, 2016. The document provides a timeline of events, the list of demands, research for each demand and outlines feasible steps to support survivors. We’ve created this series to share why these demands are so important.
Demand I: We demand that the University of Cincinnati update the policy on sex offenses with adequate and correct information.
Demand II: We demand that the University of Cincinnati publicly address the current state of Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), revoke the mandated session limit, and provide adequate mental health services for students immediately.
Demand III: We demand that the University of Cincinnati hire a full time Title IX Coordinator, and to hire staff that will be able to respond to Title IX reports in a timely manner.
Demand IV: We demand that the University of Cincinnati publicly apologize to former RECLAIM advocates and all survivors of sexual assault.
Demand V: We demand that the University of Cincinnati establish a gender-based and sexual violence response department by the start of the 2018-2019 academic year.
